BELMONT JUNE 12, 2020:

RACE 1: #2 RIVER TIBER is a 2-year-old colt by War Front from the dam Liscanna(Ire). This dam has bred several times to War Front already, producing Brave Ana who has over $200,000 in earnings and won 3 races at age 2. River Tiber, as a result, is bred to win early and with Wesley Ward training here, there should be nothing stopping this one from going wire to wire and breaking his maiden. He was a $500k purchase back in September 2019. Has been training great. Ward and Ortiz team up to win 30% of the time.

RACE 4: #2 MR. SHORTANDSIMPLE is now teaming up the pair of Vargas and Rudy Rodriguez, who has a $2.26 ROI together. This horse holds the class edge against these, as just last year he raced in the Withers, a grade 3 event. With his 2nd race off a layoff between 45-180 days, Rudy wins 25% of the time with a $2.21 ROI. #8 RHYTHM SECTION failed to run any type of race after being ranked most of the race. However, the fractions were so slow in that Gulfstream event on the turf, he had no reason to close into that slow pace. Now with the stretch out back to a mile, and with more speed in this race, this could set up for him to rebound in a big way this afternoon for Pletcher and Irad.

RACE 6: #9 ELIADE making her first start in the states. In June of last year at Chantilly in France, Eliade finished 4th in a  1  ½ mile race, the winner went in 2:25.4 (fast especially for that course). ELIADE is the first time Chad and first time Lasix,  this is an optional claiming race and Chad has put this one in a perfect spot for her debut race in the states, posted a bullet in her last workout May 30  5F  1.00.3   turf  1 of 8. #10 NOOR SAHARA is another Chad Brown horse making her first start in the states. The company she has raced with- in France is Grade 1 quality. She will probably take more money of the 2 Chad Brown entries here, as Irad is on her and they win 27% of the time. Her training has been solid leading up to this event.

RACE 8: #2 CHEWING GUM is a horse that might have finally figured out his best running style. Sprinting and closing usually do not go hand in hand, but Mott now will start Chewing Gum in a 6-furlong turf event and his style seems to fit this track and race perfectly. With the speed of #1 SAYYAAF on the rail to ensure a fast pace up front, Chewing Gum will have something to run down in the stretch. Mott second off layoff is $2.23 ROI, and in allowances overall wins over 20% of the time with a $2.10 ROI. Sayyaaf must be respected with his speed for Chad Brown. The 7.5 distance was too far for him last time out, but the 6 furlongs should be just about right where Javier can let this one utilize his speed much better.

RACE 9: #7 MR. BUFF is an absolute winning machine. Kimmel is $3.58 ROI when horses are coming off a win. In route races, John has a $2.30 ROI. When Kimmel teams up with Alvarado, they win 43% at Belmont! Mr. Buff just knows how to win and even though he is 6 years of age, it will take a "Hercules" type of effort to beat him. #8 PAT ON THE BACK will round out the exacta here. This horse has 6 wins out 12 starts on this Belmont oval- hitting the board in every start!
